exponavThe shipyard can be visited all year round as part of an official tour. Inside you will see how enormous ship are built and repaired nowadays. This amusing visit represents the essence of the city of Ferrol.

But all that glitters is not gold, and the history of the shipyard of Ferrol has its dark side. However, in spite of the renovations and the downturn of the naval sector, the Arsenal has always managed to move forward.

It was built by the Bourbon kings three centuries ago and is still the most important military shipyard in Spain, competing at the highest international level.

Remember that only official tours run by the local government are allowed to enter the shipyard, as for all of the Route of the Naval Construction.
Did you know that...?
The shipyard is home to a museum of the history of the company displaying very interesting pictures and artefacts, such as an old telephone switchboard from 1915.
