The Arsenal is an 18th century naval base that still houses warships in its docks. The Spanish Navy equips and maintains these warship, which are no longer made of wood but of iron and cutting-edge technologies.

We highly recommend a visit to the Arsenal, a place where history and modernity go hand in hand. If we take a walk through the facilities, we will see the most modern vessels of the Spanish Navy in a 250 year-old building, well-kept and running at full capacity, along with weapons such as missile launchers and pirate cannons.

Tip
If you cannot visit the facilities (access is only permitted as part of an official tour), there are beautiful views from the Jardines de Herrera gardens.
Did you know that...?
The most modern frigates of the Spanish Navy are currently docked in the Arsenal of Ferrol. They are F-100 frigates, with a radar range of 500 kilometres.
